Type Locality and Naming

Along Kaplanbek village, Tashkent district. V.A. Bykadorov, S.M. Blaykhova, E.M. Loseva et al., 1974 (123, p.63).

Synonym:


Lithology and Thickness

Limestones, dolomitic, sandy, oolitic; shell rocks, sandstones with layers of clays and marls. Thickness up to 17m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lies with erosion on Temirchin Fm, Darbaza Fm, Yalovach Fm of the Upper Cretaceous and conformably on Bosagin Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by Kaynarbulak Fm

Regional extent

Tashkent district. Correlated with the Bukhara Fm, the lower part of the Givar Fm. Southwest Gissar (with Pycnodonta antiqua, Acarinina tadjikistanensis djanensis zone). (444).

Contains marine bivalve mollusks - Corbula (Cuneocorbula) asiatica Vial., Modiolus jeremejewi Rom., Cardita minutula Rom., Lucina gravessi Desh., L. prevosti Desh.; spore-pollen - Pinus sp., Triatriopollenites araboratus Pfl., T. confusus Zakl., T. plicoides R.Pot., T. robustus R.Pot.
